NATE + WENDY WEDDING // NASHVILLE, TN

Nate + Wendy met through some mutual friends at Belmont University. They are one of the raddest and sweetest couples that you will ever meet. They are both awesome individually, but they are even better together. It was a joy and an honor to get to capture their big day because these are very special people. Congratulations, Mr. + Mrs. Faulkner! We wish you many years of happiness! #FaulknerForTheWinn

Wendy and her bridesmaids spent the morning (in the house that Wendy lived in throughout college) getting ready with music playing, delicious doughnut holes, and fall-scented candles burning.

The venue was the gorgeous Historic Travellers Rest Plantation. They held the ceremony on the front lawn underneath the trees and the reception was in the barn.

Wendy lost her dad six years ago and knew she wanted to do something special to honor him on her wedding day. A few weeks prior to the big day, she got this tattoo on her foot - written in his handwriting. Wendy said, "He may not be able to walk me down the aisle, but now a part of him will always walk with me." It was an absolutely beautiful tribute to him, and I cannot even type this without getting choked up.

Wendy and Nate are both really cool and generally chill people. The entire day, they were as cool as cucumbers....until it was time for the first look. You talk about two of the most giddy people I have ever seen. As soon as they saw one another, they slipped into a world of their own.

The ceremony took place on the front lawn of the plantation while the setting sun poured through the trees. Wendy's mom walked her down the aisle as Nate simultaneously grinned ear-to-ear and wiped tears from his eyes. By the time she made it to the altar, there was not a dry eye in the house. Nate and Wendy read handwritten vows, surrounded by their closest friends and family, while the rest of us did everything from belly laugh to attempting to not ugly cry.

This reception could have seriously charged a cover. I would've paid it. These two know how to get down! As the maid of honor stated during her speech, "Wendy has a way of walking into any room and making it her stage." It's so true. Girl walked up in that reception and performed Super Bass so well that Nicki Minaj would have been jealous. Nate + Wendy were the king and queen of the dance floor. Did I mention that she changed into a fabulous tulle skirt and freaking cute velvet booties? And that I still have dreams about their wedding cake? Or that they had personalized corn hole boards and bags? This one truly made reception history.
